BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – Dozens of people gathered in Boulder on Sunday to remember those killed in last weekend’s shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

The vigil was open to the public. Members of the Boulder temple say they wanted to honor the memories of those killed. They also explained why they opened up the vigil to all faiths.

“We believe that we all come from one god, one creator who created the entire creation, and so we want to include our brothers and sisters, our neighbors on both sides to give honor to those who passed away and just to give condolences to the congregation,”Sikh member Himmat Kaur Victoria said.

Also on Sunday hundreds of people gathered at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wis. It was the first service there since a gunman killed six people in the temple before turning the gun on himself. The service capped a weekend of events meant to honor the victims and restore the temple as a place of worship.
